Go go go for gold!!
Training is going well and I am defnitely seeing some great results... physio training is helping with my knees and ensuring my hips are stabilised and glutes are switching on to help power the legs. I am doing well with my swimming and defnitely getting inspired with the qualifying for the Olympics on Channel 9... got to love Eamon Sullivan.... and the new swimsuits... in that order!!
Looking forward to more bike training in the next couple weeks as well as stepping up the running and leg work. Swimming will be increased also for the next two weeks before tappering off a week before the triathlon.
Did a big session on Saturday and legs were sore for two days... yeaouch but good sore ..... overall body workouts are going great and looking forward to the next couple weeks.
To make things even busier I have got PT work at Fernwood the week of my graduation and the triathlon, it must be a good sign as Donna always does things at full throttle.
Bring it on!!!

The P word...... PHYSIO
Went to see physio yesterday and not able to do running until I increase my hip stabilisation and ensure my glutes are switching on also to help "fire" the leg muscles up. Knees are ok, ligaments are strong which is good news but my knees make a horrible grinding noises (as most of you know....sounds awful) and the poor physio was beside herself with the noise when I was doing some strengthening and stablising exercises yesterday. I am going to finally get an x-ray to see exactly what is floating around in my knee cap.
Went for my usual Tuesday swim this morning, really enjoy getting into the pool and just swimming (just keep swimming.....)! Cycling to the pool feels so free and I have managed to increase my cycling and swimming time to do 1.3kms and then home in 45mins.
So no running just yet, need to work with the physio a little more first and then start...

Training going well....
Still training hard and looking forward to PEAK phase starting next week. I am finding it easier to get up and out of bed early mornings, even though I am more disciplined at the start of the week. Monday is easy to get up... figure if I commence the working week with a kick butt session I will do my full routine easy.
The gym this morning was so quiet being post-mardi gras... so very quiet inside (still many out and about outside after the weekend....nothing like leather chaps first thing on a Monday morning to wake you up).
On Saturday I did my usual "fun" class - Bodyjam, Sean was great did some old routines and had a good workout, I then stayed and did bodybalance, thought this might help the body relax and recover after a long week of training. It did just the trick. Sunday was NO exercise, decided to have a sleep in and not go for a swim... ended up pottering around the house cleaning and doing some cleansing by throwing out two bags of rubbish from my room.... nice and neat it is now with lots of positive energy and some new candles.
This morning I trained legs/back/biceps and due to the availability of ALL the equipment didn't have to wait for any of the machines, which is a first. I am still squatting only 55kg - will need to increase this slightly next week (did my quads just say ouch?) am happy to increase my deadlifts also as the weight is too light at 22kgs. Biceps will go up from 15kgs to 17.5kgs (all on the bar).
Have worked out my exercise calories for this week, 4768 - am doing quite a bit of double training sessions, ie swim in the morning, weights in the afternoon, will see how that goes. Have worked out that I am on 1200 calories a day.... so have managed to get some good snacks (protein shakes, hoummus with sakata, nuts, fruit/yoghurt).
